When you hear “drinking around the world” on a theme park blog, your first thought may be all the alcoholic drinks at Epcot. But no, I don’t drink alcohol nor do I waste stomach space on beverages at Epcot when there’s food to be eaten! No, I love drinking around the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. If I had one wish in life, it would be to have all the beverages from the Wizarding World on tap in my house. 24/7.
I’m notoriously dehydrated. During trips to the park, I try to increase my water intake or any liquid intake. I don’t even drink enough juice, tea, or soda during my daily life. I don’t drink much at all, so I usually have to rely on my hydration packets. But if I had all the drinks from Harry Potter in my house, I wouldn’t have to worry about passing out from dehydration.
Breakfast
I’d kick off the day with 24 oz of hot butterbeer.
I can’t bury the lede here, this might be my absolute favorite drink of all time. It’s creamy, sweet, and reminds me of cookies. It’s like Christmas in my stomach. A dream I didn’t know I had until this touched my lips. So much so, I even tried making it at home.
Lunch
For lunch, I’d have a nice 12 oz frozen butterbeer.
The best of the original butterbeers – cool and refreshing. Sweet, almost cream soda reminiscent but the ice cuts down on it. Perfect pairing for any lunch meal.
Dinner
Well, pre-dinner, I’d have a 6 oz fishy green ale as an apertif/digestive.
I was terrified of this drink, but I liked it way more than I thought I would. It somehow tastes like a semi-sweet melon/fruity drink with a hint of Big Red gum. A strange combo that sounds more repulsive than it is. I wouldn’t drink a huge glass of it in one sitting, though.
Then with dinner, I’d have a 12 oz cold butterbeer.
It’s the OG but it’s not my favorite. It’s delicious, but it doesn’t pack enough punch to drink alone. It’s just sweet. I wish it had more carbonation or something.
Dessert
Then for dessert, another 24 oz of hot butterbeer. Yeah, I’d inject this directly into my veins if that was deemed safe by a reputable doctor.
Switching up for the seasons
You can get these drinks year-round, but if I had these at my house, I’d switch up based on the seasons. During the spring, I’d add the orange juice. During the fall, the pumpkin juice.
During the summer, put a lemon squash on the schedule. I mean I haven’t tried that one yet, but it’s gotta be good, right?
Not available at my house
The only one I would throw directly into the trash would be the fizzing peach tea. This was the biggest shocker of my life. I thought I was in for a tasty treat. I love carbonated tea, I love peach tea, what could go wrong? Well, apparently everything.
What the *&$@! Tasted like old socks. Not that I’ve ever tasted those before, but what I’d imagine them to taste like.
So don’t put that one in my house. But the others, sign me up.
NOW.
What beverages do you like when drinking around the Wizarding World of Harry Potter?
